Excellent condition, cut both ends.
Black silk thread. Single S, 2 ply Z.

It's amazing how the Le Puy lacemakers can construct circular motifs.  Note the little thin line midway in the circles - sometimes it looks like a sngle thread, sometimes plaited.   The ground is a very interesting design of flowers? with plaited leaves alternating with halfstitch squares.
